What is Microsoft Community Training?

Microsoft Community Training is an Azure-powered online learning platform to enable organizations of all sizes and types to run large scale training programs for their internal and external communities such as first line workers, extended workforces, partner ecosystem, volunteer network, program beneficiaries, etc.
It is available as a Managed PaaS offering via Azure Marketplace that customers can easily deploy in their subscriptions. The platform is available for free and an organization only bears platform hosting and consumption charges on Azure.

Does Microsoft Community Training support multi-tenancy?

Currently, there is no multi-tenant support for Microsoft Community Training. Each Microsoft Community Training instance is separate (i.e. no sharing of data and compute resources) and deployed on customer’s own Azure subscription.

  5. CPU Speed: 1.2 GHz

What kind of internet connectivity is supported?

The platform is designed to be lightweight and supports adaptive video streaming. For video content, it supports streaming under all network speeds – 100kps, 256kbps, 2G as well as 3G. For other content types like pdf and doc files, the network speed determines the time it takes to download the content and thereby the time it takes to open the file in the app.

How many languages are supported by Microsoft Community Training?

Currently, Microsoft Community Training for learners is available in 6 languages – Hindi, English, Telugu, Arabic, Malay and Vietnamese.

Will I be charged license fee for Microsoft Community Training platform in future?

Currently, there are no plans to charge any licensing fee for the solution to existing or new customers for a foreseeable future.

How does Microsoft Community Training integration with Microsoft Teams work?

Learners can consume training content inside the Teams app (Desktop and Mobile) and no separate app is needed. For Admins, the existing team’s group will automatically sync to Microsoft Community Training and they need to take care of content management and course enrollment on the management portal.

Is there support for live classroom training in Microsoft Community Training?

Microsoft Community Training is currently focused on self-pace learning where learners can enroll for courses on their own and content from anywhere and anytime.

For live classrooms, our recommendation is to use Microsoft Teams and use Microsoft Community Training platform to host the live classroom content later.

How can I provide feedback on the platform and request for new features?

Customers can contact us via Helpdesk for any issues or new feature request. Whenever we receive any feedback, we actively work to address the issue or prioritize the feature ask on the product roadmap.
