What is Microsoft Community Training?
Microsoft Community Training is an Azure-powered online learning platform to enable organizations of all sizes and types to run large scale training programs for their internal and external communities such as first line workers, extended workforces, partner ecosystem, volunteer network, program beneficiaries, etc.
It is available as a Managed PaaS offering via Azure Marketplace that customers can easily deploy in their subscriptions. The platform is available for free and an organization only bears platform hosting and consumption charges on Azure. Click here to learn more about the platform.
What are the markets where Microsoft Community Training is available?

Who are the target audience for Microsoft Community Training?
Microsoft Community Training is built and optimized for large scale community skilling program (i.e. volunteers, program beneficiaries, etc.) and extended enterprise training (i.e. firstline workers, suppliers, distributors, retailers, etc.). The platorm is designed for mobile first and mobile only audience and supports learning even on low-bandwidth networks and low-end smartphones.
The platform is already being used by number of large enterprises, small and medium businesses, startups, educational institutions, governmental organization and nonprofits.

How can customers buy Microsoft Community Training?

What do customers have to pay for Microsoft Community Training? What is the pricing model?
Microsoft Community Trainng platform doesn't charge any licensing fee, customers only need to pay for Azure consumption.
The Azure consumption cost depends on various factors like # of users, volume of content hosted and content consumed every month on the platform. Refer to this pricing calculator for more details.
Will I be charged license fee for Microsoft Community Training platform in the future?
Microsoft Community Training platform is in public preview right now. Currently, there are no plans to charge any licensing fee for the solution to existing or new customers.
Does Microsoft Community Training support multi-tenancy?
Currently, there is no multi-tenant support for Microsoft Community Training. Each Microsoft Community Training instance is separate (i.e. no sharing of data and compute resources) and deployed on customer’s own Azure subscription.

What are the minimum device specificiation required for installing the Android application?
Here is the minimal device configuration needed for the Microsoft Community Training mobile app to run:
- Android Version: Android 5.0 and up
- App Size: ~ 30 MB
- Storage: Minimum 100 MB free space
- RAM: 1 GB
- CPU Speed: 1.2 GHz
How learner experience changes with internet connectivity?
Microsoft Community Training platform is designed to be lightweight and supports adaptive video streaming.
For video content, it supports streaming under all network speeds – 100kps, 256kbps, 2G as well as 3G.
For other content types like pdf and doc files, the complete content needs to be downloaded before learners can starrt consuming the content.
In case of mobile application, learners can also download the content and consume the same in offline mode.
How many languages are supported by Microsoft Community Training?
Currently, Microsoft Community Training for learners is available in 8 languages – English, French, Spanish, Hindi, Arabic, Malay, Vietnamese and Telugu.

How long it will take when we raise request for new language?
Once we have decided to add support for a specific language, it takes 2-3 weeks to complete the localization. Refer this article for more information.

What kind of APIs are available to integrate Microsoft Community Training with other 3rd party applications?
Microsoft Community Training platform provides REST APIs to help organization integrate the platform with their existing system or consume training content via custom endpoints. For e.g. Organization can use Microsoft Flow to integrate Microsoft Community Training platform with their HRMS and CRM systems to import/sync users to the platform or export course progress and completion status.

How does Microsoft Community Training integration with Microsoft Teams work?
Organization can enable Microsoft Teams as an end point for the Microsoft Community Training platform. Once it is enabled, learners can consume training content within the Microsoft Teams (Web, Desktop and Mobile) and no separate application is needed.
In case of Microsoft Team's setup, all the existing groups/teams will be automatically imported and synced to the Microsoft Community Training platform to make it easy for administrators and teams owners to assign courses and track completion.

Is there support for live classroom training in Microsoft Community Training?
Currently, Microsoft Community Training is optmized for self-pace learning where learners can enroll for courses on their own and access content from anywhere, anytime.
For live classrooms, our recommendation is to use Microsoft Teams and use Microsoft Community Training platform to host the recording of the live classroom later.
How can I provide feedback on the platform and request for new features?
Customers can contact us via Helpdesk for any issues or new feature request. Whenever we receive any feedback, we actively work to address the issue or prioritize the feature ask on the product roadmap.
Can learners communicate or ask questions with peers and trainers on the platform?
Microsoft Community Training platform has a functionality called discussion forum which learners can use to ask questions to other participants, trainers or administrator. Anyone who is registered for the course (or admins) can respond to these questions.

Can we integrate Microsoft Community Training to our existing mobile application?
Yes, we can integrate Microsoft Community Training platform to your existing mobile application. For example, we can add a 'Training' button on the home screen and clicking on the button will launch the Microsoft Community Training platform inside the existing app as a web view.

Can nonprofit organizations use their exisitng Azure Credits towards Microsoft Community Training platform hosting cost?
Nonprofit organization gets free Azure credit from Microsoft, which can be used towards hosting the Microsoft Community Training platform.
What should I do if I no longer need the platform? How can I download the training content and data before terminating?
Since there is no licensing fee and customers are only paying for the Azure consumptions, you just need to go ahead and delete the resource group where the platform is deployed.
